A barrier between city and river in Rimouski

E. Meleddu, D. Secchi

In a land where there are not marked property lines because private is public and public is private, exist a barrier that divides the city and river. This clean cut constituted by an oversized infrastructure respect to the needs of Rimouski defines the urban edge but at the same time prevent de facto a real relationship with water.
However it exists an interconnection’s net of urban voids that cut transversally the city until to reach the river, and this represent a great potentiality for Rimouski.
Also, it’s fundamental how the water’s perception along the coast change, that is modified in functions of the accesses, private in Le Bic, hindered by road in Rimouski and public in Métis sur Mer.
